The Body Recovery Masterclass, or BRMC for short, is an educational video series about CrossFit body recovery from 2x CrossFit Games athlete Jason Carroll.

 

There are 9 modules that are short and to the point, yet power packed with tons of practical information.

 

The entire course is under an hour, and in today’s microwave society where most people have the attention span of a hiccup, that works perfectly.

While the title says it's a review of the masterclass, it’s actually more of a ‘behind the scenes’ about how the course came to life, what’s inside the video series, and how to implement the lessons learned.

 

We wanted to give you information about the course that creators don't really talk about... like our thought process, why we chose the athlete that we did, stuff like that.

 

So here we go.

 

WHY WE CREATED THE COURSE

To be perfectly honest, the topic of body recovery isn’t sexy. It’s not fun.

 

No one wakes up in the morning excited to learn more about CrossFit recovery.

For most people, body recovery is an after-thought.

 

Usually we tell our coach that something is hurting or something is sore, and our coach tells us to do ‘this’ or do ‘that’.

 

That’s the extent of our ‘recovery’ strategy.

 

However… recovering properly with a strategy makes a huge difference. The key word here is strategy.

 

For the people who are in the competitive side of CrossFit, their recovery is everything.

 

Every one of the top-tier athletes has a strategy and system in place for recovery. End of story.

 

How they recover can mean the difference in a few seconds off their time, or being able to add a few extra pounds on the bar.

 

For the everyday WOD warrior, waking up less sore or just feeling better can be the deciding factor for them going back to the gym that day, or taking a rest day.

 

Even for us, we created our company WOD Recovery because we were tired of always waking up super stiff and sore.

 

So we decided to create this course to give you the tips, the tricks, and the strategy you need to recover properly, without having to spend hours of time on Google or YouTube watching tons of different videos from different so-called ‘experts’.

 

We covered every topic that mattered, from A to Z.

 

We wanted to give you one place you could go to, time and time again, to get exactly what you needed when you needed it.

 

Yes… you can find all the information you want on anything online… for FREE. It’s been that way for a long time.

 

But isn’t it better if we did the heavy lifting for you, putting everything together in one place, in an organized and logical fashion?

WHY WE CHOSE JASON CARROLL

Jason Carroll is one of our ambassadors, but honestly he’s just an awesome guy!

 

What made Jason an easy choice was that he has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to body recovery.

 

He has a degree from Cal State Fullerton in Strength and Conditioning, Biomechanics, and Bio-Energetics.

 

As an athlete, he’s reached the pinnacle in CrossFit.

 

He’s been to the CrossFit Games twice as an individual athlete (2017 & 2019), and he was part of the 2020 Games demo team.

 

So for credentials, he checked off all the boxes.

 

But Jason also has the ability to speak in front of the camera that makes him a natural. He has that ‘IT’ factor that you can’t teach.

 

For instance, have you ever heard someone speak about a topic, and you just have that gut feeling that they know their stuff, even if you have no idea what they’re talking about?

 

That’s Jason.

 

As Jason spoke, when we were recording the videos for this course, we just were in awe at times about how much we were learning from him.

 

For those that have watched this course already, the feedback we are getting matches what we just said.

 

So to be perfectly honest, we are beyond lucky that Jason worked with us on this project.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT THE COURSE

Since the entire course is less than an hour long, you can watch it all at once and get a crash course.

 

Doing this will give you a great overview.

 

However, the best way to utilize the course is to first watch it all, then go back and re-watch the sections that are most important to you today.

 

Don’t forget to take notes and put them in your phone in a place you can access them anytime you want.

 

Maybe Evernote, or some similar note taking cloud app, makes sense.

 

For most people, the post-WOD and nutrition modules are the most common places to start.

 

The biggest problem most people have is trying to implement too much too fast.

 

Just start with implementing ONE thing, do it for a few weeks, and track your results.

 

Then add more when it makes sense.

 

CrossFit body recovery is not a sprint, but something you’ll hopefully still be doing 10 years from now.
