CROSSFIT BODY RECOVERY TIPS

There’s no denying what CrossFit can do for you and your overall health if you do it with any sort of consistency.

If you’re like most of us, you do CrossFit 3-5 times per week… and you love the way it makes you look and feel.

CrossFitters will tell you that they pay good money every month to get their butts kicked… yet they keep showing up again day after day.

Why???

Because it’s a cult!  (lol, inside CrossFit joke 🤣)

All kidding aside… people love to get real coaching in the classes, they can just show up and not think about what to do, and there’s a truth to enjoying the ‘suffer’ with their friends.

On the flip side, there’s a lack of coaching or training with one of the most important parts of CrossFit… body recovery.

Here’s some simple advice to take your body recovery to the next level, so you can recover faster and get back to your next wod!

The Basics

Body recovery doesn’t have to be complicated if you just do a few things for a few minutes per day.

A lot of these things are easy to do, but they are just as easy not to do them… so plan it out and commit to the process.

Cool down and stretch immediately after your WOD

After you pick you pick yourself off the floor and start breathing ‘normal’ again, immediately go for a cool down walk, jump on the rower or get on the assault bike.

Do this for just a few minutes.  Don’t go faster than a slow to moderate pace, as the goal is to just keep moving.

This will do wonders for your body.

Then spend some time stretching to release your tension and start the healing process of what you just put your body through.

Even though we do NOT like to do static stretching before a WOD, it’s actually recommended after a WOD.

Why?

When your body and muscles are heated up from the workout, that’s the best time to open up the muscles a little to let the blood flow in, which helps circulate the blood and starts the recovery process of removing the lactic acid that was already starting to build up.

Post workout meal

This is where your protein shake comes in.  You’ve probably seen a ton of people grabbing their shakers and attacking it.  There’s a reason for it.

Getting your body the right nutrients in the right amount of time will help start the recovery process.

You can actually do harm to your overall goals of building muscle or reducing soreness by not eating.

Right after your WOD, your body is needing nutrients to replace and replenish what it just lost.

Furthermore, as you’ve undoubtedly created micro-tears in your muscles, which are good, you want to nourish your body with the right foods to help recover your muscles and make them grow larger and/or stronger.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

We’re not talking the beer and wine type hydration, which we’re definitely not against.  We’re talking water here.

Replenish your body with fluids to help flush out the toxins and lactic acid build up in your body and your newly damaged muscles.

Get some sleep for body recovery

‘Go till you puke or die!’ is great in theory, but you’ll eventually do both way sooner than you should if you don’t get some sleep and allow your body to recover.

In fact, your body heals the most while asleep, so go find your bed, pull back the covers and jump right in.

The Next Level

While the basics will get you started, this is where you turn up the volume and really rock out… or go RX+!

We are blessed to live in a time where we have the technology and knowledge to help improve our bodies in ways we couldn’t imagine before.

Think about how powerful supplements are to the athletic community.  Think about how much supplements have improved performance (legal of course!), and how much science is going into these supplements.

It’s mind blowing!

Well.. what if we incorporated the ultimate supplement into our body recovery?  Do you think that would make a difference?

We think so…

Hemp-Derived CBD Oil is the ultimate ‘ninja tactic’ you have available to you today for so many reasons.

While legally we can't get into what the benefits of CBD are (thank you corrupt Big Pharma), we can say that many athletes use CBD every single day and are getting amazing results.

Plus, when it’s a high quality product (no pun intended since there’s ZERO THC), it’s just sooooo good for your body!

Andy by high quality, we mean… Made in the USA, organic, Non-GMO, 3rd party lab tested, and formulated for specific purposes.

Even better… it doesn’t have any side effects like the little white pills or prescription medications have, so that’s a double RX++!

FYI… our CBD oil is all of the above when it comes to being a cut above the rest.
